Darren Schwindaman, former graphic designer for the Jackson Free Press, teaches a one-evening workshop in the concepts of creating a successful newsletter. The Newsletter Layout and Design class is ideal for anyone dealing in communications: people working in non-profit organizations, churches, small businesses—even someone writing a family newsletter! The workshop will cover concepts of dynamic newsletter layout to help you produce a creative and professional print newsletter. Topics covered will include: column-based page layout, editing images, choosing fonts, and preparing your newsletter for print. Emphasis will be placed on clear communication of ideas.

Darren will teach using Adobe Indesign software, the graphic design industry standard. However, the concepts of newsletter design will apply to any desktop publishing software package you choose. A Question and Answer period will follow the workshop instruction.
